A Mexican person who returned to Fuerteventura where there have been currently zero patients, has triggered an outbreak.

The Canary Islands have diagnosed the first outbreak of the coronavirus causing Covid-19 this Wednesday in Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria . In total there are 10 people infected after a private party was held in a villa in Fuerteventura attended by more than 40 people and a subsequent intra-family celebration in Gran Canaria.

Of the 10 affected, five are in Gran Canaria and another five in Fuerteventura. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health maintains its work of tracking cases and has isolated the rest of the people who were at private parties. The Health Department has warned that the majority of outbreaks throughout Spain are occurring in this type of meeting (40%) and affirms that it is due to an excessive relaxation of security measures.

In Tenerife, there have been two new cases that are related to an affected person who came from the United States and who has been admitted to the ICU, bringing the affected number to three. It is already an outbreak, although it is under control. In Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, in addition, there are two controlled outbreaks of migrants with Covid-19 amounting to 43 people.
