The regional councillor, José Antonio Valbuena, is in constant coordination with the companies Endesa and Red Eléctrica de España (REE), in order to ensure the proper functioning of electricity supplies. All control centres will be fully operational and operating normally 24 hours a day, taking the appropriate precautionary, contingencies and sanitary measures to guarantee the quality and safety of the electricity supply in all islands every day of the week.

Valbuena explains that, for the duration of the confinement period, "there will be no cut in supply or losses due to non-payment of electricity." Likewise, it affirms that both companies have adopted internal measures to dispose of sufficient resources to deal with faults and any need for maintenance.

For its part, the general director of Energy of the Canary Islands Executive, Rosana Melián, reports that "so far, no incident has occurred that represents a risk for covering demand and the proper functioning of the electricity supply."

Melián points out that the technical teams are ready to carry out urgent repairs of equipment, as well as to maintain customer service online or by phone, since, due to this exceptional context, On site office care has been suspended.
