A Binter plane that was flying from Turin to Gran Canaria had to make an emergency landing at Lanzarote airport this Tuesday, after detecting smoke in the hold of the aircraft.

"Out of proximity and as a precaution, they decided to land here," they explain from the Lanzarote Safety and Emergencies Consortium, which was activated in case their intervention was necessary.

Finally, the action of the firefighters had not been required and the flight landed without further incidents, with the Binter and airport staff taking charge of controlling the situation.

As they have explained from the company, "once the plane had landed normally, the mandatory checks had been carried out and it had been found that the warning turned out to be a false alert caused by a failure in the fire detector."

The security systems and procedures had been activated as planned, without, at any time, the safety of the passengers and the crew being affected by this incident.

Finally, from Binter they report that they are attending to passengers and organising the operation so that they can reach their final destination as soon as possible.
