Five of the 25 immigrants rescued in the early hours of this Wednesday near Lanzarote have tested positive on covid 19. All are adults and are asymptomatic, so they have not required hospitalization, according to health sources.
The boat, an inflatable boat, was intercepted at 02:30 hours and its occupants were transferred by Salvamento Marítimo to Puerto Naos. Once they were treated by the Red Cross, they were transferred to the Máguez Nature centre where samples were taken to find out if they had coronaviruses.
