As Lanzarote progresses in phase 2 of the de-escalation, economic activity in the tourist areas of the island continues to be practically paralyzed. Both in Playa Blanca and in Puerto del Carmen, most of the businesses have not yet opened their doors, waiting for tourism to recover, which will not happen until the beginning of July, in the best of scenarios.

Shops, bars and restaurants continue with the fence lowered along the entire avenue of Puerto del Carmen, where this absence of activity contrasts with that on the beaches, now full of residents on the island.

The same scene is also repeated in Playa Blanca, where the people of Lanzarote have come to the local beaches in recent days, while most businesses remain closed and only a few have started working.

As for Costa Teguise, some terraces such as those of the Pueblo Marinero began to open their doors from phase 1. However, as in Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen, practically all bars, restaurants and shops were closed on the beachfront.
