The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) has warned people with an allergy or intolerance to milk on Friday of the marketing of a Flora brand margarine that contains milk and is not included in the labelling.

This incident was detected in a self-monitoring of the company, which has informed the competent authorities and its clients. Specifically, it is the Flora Original product of 225 grams and the batch is 129404098 with a best before date 03/10/2022.

As a precautionary measure, those with an allergy or intolerance to milk who may have the aforementioned product in their homes are recommended to refrain from consuming it. In addition, this product is classified as 'Vegan', so those who follow a vegan diet could be affected by this labeling error.

This information has been transferred to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI), in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels. At the moment it is unknown in which autonomous communities this margarine has been sold.

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition, under the Ministry of Health, has learned through the European Food Alert Network (RASFF) of an alert notification sent by the Portuguese health authorities.
