Lanzarote photographer Juan Méndez captured some spectacular images of the Northern Lights from Lanzarote in the early hours of this Saturday.
Méndez explains that it was around two in the morning "on one of my night outings, I was able to enjoy something that unfortunately does not usually happen on our islands." "Both in Las Salinas de Janubio and on the islet of the falcons I enjoyed this incredible night of auroras and satellites, it was something totally incredible!," says the photographer.
According to Aemet, the polar aurora is an electrometeor consisting of a luminous phenomenon that appears in the upper layers of the atmosphere in the form of arcs, bands, curtains, etc.
