Two people were injured this Thursday by  steam-related burns in the Timafaya National Park. The incident occurred at around 12:58 p.m., as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES).

A mother, with serious burns, and her 6-year-old daughter, with minor burns, were the main victims. Both have been assessed and assisted by health personnel and subsequently transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital to be treated for their injuries. The mother holding her daughter in her arms approached a hole where weeds are burnt to get a better view. She then slipped into the hole.

A medical ambulance, another basic life support ambulance and a sanitized ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) have traveled to the area. In addition, Local Police agents have also arrived at the scene to carry out the corresponding procedures.
