Tragedy at Arroyo House

Shock. That is the word that best describes the incident that occurred at the Casa de Los Arroyo, headquarters of the Biosphere Reserve. Juan Baztán, one of the professors who participated in the MICRO International Congress, which is being held at the Atlántida Multicines in Arrecife, has died after a fall inside the building. The exact causes of the accident are still unknown.
 
The National Police have taken over the investigation to clarify this tragic outcome. The deceased was a professor at the University of Bordeaux, who was with other members of the organisation inside the building. According to initial reports, the professor suffered a fall from a height of approximately two metres, apparently in the area of ​​the stairs.
 
The news of the professor's death spread quickly among the participants and attendees at the conference, causing a great impact. The incident occurred at around 6:00 p.m., when the emergency services were alerted. Despite their rapid intervention, they were unable to do anything to save his life.

Their work over the past two decades has been and will be a fundamental pillar for advancing a new United Nations Treaty to combat plastic pollution, which could materialize in the coming months.
