The American newspaper The New York Times has reported this Tuesday on its front page the natural beauty and, above all, the health security in the tourism sector of Lanzarote , which has allowed the island to continue receiving visitors during the pandemic.

The president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, highlighted this article as “an important international recognition of the great work done to contain the pandemic , in line with the island tourism sector, which has guaranteed respect for health measures and has contributed to making the Island a safe destination, both for residents and for our visitors.”

It is "up to 100% easier to travel to Lanzarote than to many other countries", according to an Estonian logistics worker, and, despite the prominence of this sixth wave, the expansion of the Ómicron variant in Europe and the economic crisis suffered by Spain in the last two years, "travelers continue to prefer Lanzarote for their holidays".

"With these great drawbacks, we have managed to overcome and show that our tourism is recognised worldwide for the uniqueness of Lanzarote, as well as for our way of promoting them," said Dolores Corujo.
