Ryanair cabin crew (TPC) are back on strike from this Monday, August 8th, until January 7th , with weekly 24-hour strikes that will take place from Monday to Thursday.

The USO and SITCPLA unions, which represent the crew of said airline, criticize Ryanair's "refusal to negotiate" to agree on a new collective agreement that applies to all TPCs in Spain, for which "they have been forced to continue with the strike and call new days”.

"Ryanair has not shown the slightest attempt to approach the unions but, on the contrary, Ryanair has publicly stated his refusal to engage in any dialogue with the representatives chosen by the crew," they say from the Workers' Union.

The demands of the workers focus on the Irish low-cost company applying "basic labour rights, such as 22 working days of annual leave, 14 legally established holidays; compliance with the PRL law; the granting of legal custody rights , specification and reduction of working hours; the payment of salary levels prior to the pandemic, as the National High Court already ruled in its ruling; an end to the hiring of workers through illegal assignment of workers, also condemned by the AN and the respect for the legitimate exercise of the right to strike by workers," explains USO in a statement.

It also calls for the "immediate reinstatement of the 11 workers fired during the previous calls in June and July for supporting the constitutional right to strike", as well as "the suspension and filing of all disciplinary proceedings open to approximately 100 workers with reason for the previous stoppages".

For now, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda has set minimum services of between 85% and 68% on domestic flights to or from the islands ; between 60% and 36% for domestic flights whose travel time on public transport is equal to or greater than 5 hours and for all international flights, and 38% and 34% for domestic flights whose travel time on public transport public is less than 5 hours.

On the first day of the strike the Canary islands were unaffected.
