Teguise and Tías Account for Almost Half of the Covid Cases

The municipality of Teguise has become the most affected in Lanzarote in the incidence of Covid-19, closely followed by Tías . In fact, between the two they account for almost half of the cases detected on the island in the last week, and they are together with Yaiza at high risk.

In the case of Teguise, it has added 27 cases in 7 days, while Tías has registered 21, of the total of 100 that are collected throughout the island in the latest detailed Health report.

Arrecife has recorded 25 positives in the last week, which in relation to its population is one of the lowest incidents in Lanzarote. Only Tinajo is behind, which has registered two positives in a week, and Haría, with one. As for Yaiza, it has had 13 cases in the last week and San Bartolomé 11.

In the cumulative incidence in relation to the population, these data assume that there are three municipalities at high risk: Teguise, which has a cumulative incidence of 118 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days and 220.24 in 14 days; Tías, with 101.8 and 169.6, respectively; and Yaiza, with 76.29 in 7 days and 146.71 in 14 days.

In the next place but already at medium risk is San Bartolomé, with an incidence of 57.59 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days and 130.9 in 14 days. For its part, Arrecife ranks fifth, with a 7-day incidence of 38.67 and 109.83 at 14 days. As for Tinajo, with only two positives, its cumulative incidence at 7 days is at 31.08.
