The Government Council of the Canary Islands gave the green light this Monday to the construction project of a four-star apartment complex in the municipality of Teguise, in Lanzarote. The entity Nivaria Beach SLU, promotes the establishment, which will be located on Avenida Los Cocederos and is distributed in three buildings. All of this prior to authorization from the Lanzarote Cabildo.

The file, processed by the Ministry of Tourism and Employment, includes 143 accommodation units and 292 tourist places, guaranteeing the minimum environmental impact in terms of, at least, water savings, noise and light pollution and waste management. The project will be carried out on a plot of 17,625 square meters . Specifically, it is the plot that is behind El Jablillo beach on the way to Las Cucharas beach.

The central block will house the common uses of tourist activity on the ground floor and above it, on the first and second floors, 26 tourist apartments. The north building, with views of the bay of Las Cucharas beach and the central area of the complex, will have three floors with 59 apartments, and the south building will also consist of three floors with 58 apartments.

Additionally, as a complement, three spaces are planned on the ground floor towards the seafront, dedicated to a restaurant, spa and gym .

The Government Council responds to this procedure based on the Law on Tourism Renewal and Modernization of the Canary Islands, which provides that prior authorizations will only be granted for tourist accommodation places in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife, when their purpose is the new implementation of hotel and non-hotel establishments that meet building and service quality standards that guarantee minimal environmental impact .
