The Christmas Hamper Scandal

Over two years ago the government spent almost 15,000 euros on Christmas Hampers, but when they received the hampers they decided not to give them to the government tourist workers as they thought it might upset other government workers.

The hampers were in fact delivered to the government tourist centres but not distributed to the workers and then returned to a warehouse where the perishable goods rotted.

About €3000 in soft cheese and other items were thrown away at the time.

The CC party have exposed this matter as it was the PSOE and PP party who have now returned to government that were in power at the time, when the hampers were ordered. Their actions did not show a sense of goodwill at this time of the year and a disgraceful waste of food, they claim.
