The 'Lanzarote Wine Run', Carrera del Vino, returns to the island on June 16, 2024. An event that the Lanzarote Cabildo has decided to recover, being one of the events that has had the greatest acceptance and popularity of those that have been celebrate on the island and whose last celebration was in 2019.

Organized jointly with the Regulatory Council of the Lanzarote Wines Denomination of Origin and the Yaiza City Council, with the collaboration of the La Santa Club, it will consist of a 12-kilometer walk, a short run with the same distance and a long run of 23 kilometers. . It has a capacity of 2,000 participants and registration can be done now through the link on the race website .

The Minister of the Environment, Samuel Martín, encourages the population to participate in this twelfth edition of 'Lanzarote Wine Run' , which “beyond a sporting event, it is an event of great environmental value that contributes to raising awareness about the “Wonderful landscape that we have, unique in the world, and the importance of conserving it,” he emphasizes.

In this sense, Martín points out that the race “is an opportunity to recognize and value in its fair measure, both by residents and by the numerous people who will come from outside attracted by its celebration, the commendable work and effort historically made by the people dedicated to Lanzarote viticulture, the main architects of allowing us to enjoy this spectacular landscape.”

The 'Lanzarote Wine Run' will once again have a "marked solidarity character" by allocating part of the proceeds obtained to the ' Save La Geria' project . Through this initiative, the Cabildo promotes the economic, cultural, environmental and tourist sustainability of the landscape of La Geria, by highlighting the cultivation of vineyards, promoting wine tourism and recovering traditional trails and degraded spaces, among others.
