The Yorkshire Ripper Ashes Scattered in Lanzarote

A British tourist has scattered this week on the coast of Lanzarote the ashes of Peter Sutcliffe, known as "the Yorkshire Ripper", a multiple murderer who killed thirteen women in the United Kingdom between 1975 and 1980, according to The Sun Newspaper in the UK.

The tabloid cites as a source the testimony of the woman who claims to have taken to a beach in the municipality of Tías, during a vacation trip, the urn with the remains of Sutcliffe, who died of covid-19 in November 2020 at the age of 74 .

"I promised Peter that I would spread his ashes in a nice and sunny place when I went on a trip," the woman, who regularly visited Sutcliffe in prison and who has asked that her identity not be revealed, explained to "The Sun".

"I know people will think it's scary, but as far as I'm concerned, I was fulfilling the wishes of a dying old man. who wanted to be in a better, happier place ," she added.

Peter William Sutcliffe worked as an undertaker in the town of Bingley, in the county of Yorkshire. He was arrested in 1981 and sentenced to life in prison.

The story of his crimes is told, in four episodes, by the documentary series on the Netflix platform (2020), broadcast in Spain with the title "The Yorkshire Ripper".
